Aquaclear 70

Canister for sand.

HOBs will jam with sand. The fish just has to rough house to kick sand way up high. then it's RACKITY RACK noise for the whole day.
HOBs have the impeller directly exposed to the intake.
Problem when bichirs freak and kick sand way up into the tank.

Canisters protect the impeller after all the filtering. Such as an Eheim 2217. Impeller is protected by the entire foam filter and biofilter, so sand won't reach it.

Um, because oscars are and will always be messy eaters. A AC70 will not coupe with a oscar in a 55gal period. A AC110 would work 10x better then a AC70, a AC 110 is two times more the turn over rate needed a hour. Commend sense.

If I have a aqueon 55/75 and I'm adding another filter ur point makes no point. Common sense..

I had the marineland 400 not a bad filter but overall expensive

Ac110 is 500gph or 400gph(w/media) = 7-8x turnover. Perfect. More the better. Ac70 is less

Check this out, your Oscar is going to out grow your 55gal regardless of what filter you are running. A ac110 would be a great start to a upgraded tank......yes? Common sense at its best.

I understand what you guys are saying but with 700+ gph and water changes I thought i would be fine. The only reason I said 70 is because the 110 is 30 dollars more then the 70 for that price I might as well get a canister.
