well, I should just try to lead by example. I'm not trying to say I'm more knowledgeable than anyone else (especially not you, ARC). But I just try to set a good example with my attitude by being sympathetic and inviting to as many people there that I can.

I am sorry about your experience there, but I'm nearly 100% sure that I wasn't present when you were getting that chilly reception. Plus, since Li took over there, he has made an effort to change the general attitude there. I think he did a great job, but like all things it will take time.

I think MFK is a little more rogue, we think outside the box. If we look at buying a home with a pool, we look at buying an RTC.

MFK is outside the box.

AC is more of an aquarists site, MFK is a site for freaks!

I really enjoy AC, because there is more info on community tanks, but MKF will always be my home.

I am not a freak! Just cuz I got & tanks going in a 2 bedroom apt! That doesnt make me a freak. By the way I tried to lease the complex pool for a RTC but they said NO! Some people have no imagination.

Yea, right, I remember a person with 2 ammonia, 0 nitrate and 0 nitrate, and everyone said that tank was cycled with 0 nitrate and 2 ammonia..And Bio Spira will not help cycle that tank..Yea ,right...And there are a lot of things going around..I been posting in AC since 1998 and you know why there is such a high turnover? You rarely see members having a thing saying, member since 2000, 2001..It is because, people tend to avoid that place..

I just had to reply to this. We might be a lot of thing but, we aren't fools. Anyone that's even read fish book one could tell you that a tank with an ammonia reading of 2 ppm isn't even close to being cycled in the situation that you described.

I'm very sorry if you had a bad experience and I hope that we can prove to you that we're really not like that if, not that's fine to. It just seems sort of odd to me that you're saying that we're that we are cliquish. I assure you that we aren't. We tend to be about as cohesive as a bag full of ferrets due to our large and diverse population.

I just can't see any reason why you'd want to insult Paula here along with everyone at a.c.

What you talking about insult? She insulted me first saying I did not conform to the standard practice of fish keeping..That is a blatant attack on me! Anyway, mosnterfishkeepers cater to the people who are into "exotics"..Meaning they go for the rare, exotic type of fishes that cost more..AC is for people who want to just control the board with their opinions and it does not matter what type of fish but generally, you will get people who are into more bread and butter fishes at AC...

Darn, I feel I am back at AC now with the AC crowd..And this is a different board..I am not comeing back to this thread..

I didn't mean to say he didn't conform to our standards. Just that that is the attitude at AC that I do not condone, trying to explain it from the Other Side. I was speaking in generalities and apologize if you took it that way.

Since ARC is not going to return to this thread, I'm saying this for the benefit of anyone who might have read my post and also saw it that way.

There are differences between the boards and i will be the first person to tell you that, but lets celebrate the differences!! .. if MFK and AC are identical , then whats the use of having 2 existing boards ?? They are seperate and distinct for those very reasons .
