It sounds like the viewing area is split down the middle according to the measurements? How thick is the glass? Does it require tempered glass for the replacement pieces

No the front and back are full sheets that measure 96"x36". The bottom of the aquarium is comprised of two sheets of glass each measuring 48"x60". One of the bottom sheets (48"x60") and one of the end side panels (60"x36") broke during transport. The glass is tempered 14mm. According to the company that I purchased the glass from you can either replace the glass with 20mm non tempered or 14mm tempered.

For $1500 I will replace the two sheets that cracked. A $600 value.

So for $1500 you get a full 900 gallon aquarium measuring 96"x60"x36". New it cost over 4,000 to build.
