Aquariums with Lots of Aeration Added

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I always liked the bubbles even though they aren't "natural". It helps move the water column upward and helps with c02 diffusion, agitates the surface for increased 02 absorption. I use the blake tubing with the zoo meds magnets tubing clips. I also don't use air stones because they are always clogging up and causing the pump to run harder. I just run the bare end tubing under a lava rock that I drilled holes in. The bubbles are much larger and thus move more water to the surface.

I don't like the look of air stones in most tanks. I due use sponge filters for my fry tanks though. Air stones make the aquarium to noisy looking for me. Plus the splash they make can be very annoying over years of use leaving minerals to deposite in the most annoying places.

not a big fan of bubbles in the tank, but for great aeration I have a wet/dry trickle tower and 2 large sponge filters in the sump. also 2 HOBs. like some others have said, all that tubing is a PITA. lol
