Anybody with large aqueon tanks 150+... specifically the 180 have any good or bad reviews?.... I'm looking to purchase one next week for $1,055....thats tank, lids and stand.

Any input would be appreciated

Thanks

I have an aqueon 180g with black silicone. No complaints. It’s made with 3/4in glass, tempered bottom so it’s solid. The glass lids are decent but the middle brace gets ruined really easy. I don’t have an aqueon stand. I bought a 3rd party stand which is decent also.

Tank has only been running for 18months but issue free so far.

What do u mean by the middle brace gets ruined easily?...

The glass canopies consist of two panels of glass and this plastic brace they slide into to create one glass canopy. That plastic brace gets ruined easily. Not a big deal but what happens is you need to be careful when handling the canopy as the glass panes can slide out easily.

Did you order it through a LFS? Not a bad price at all. Retail on the tank alone is probably ~$600.

Since I got back (seriously) into the hobby around 2012, I've always preferred Aqueon tanks over Marineland products. Thicker glass in most cases on Aqueons and the plastic frames are bigger/sturdier.

Yup and only charging me $20 for delivery.
Oh I thought aqueon tanks were 75lbs lighter?

If the online spec sheets are correct, the Aqueon 180's dry weight is showing 282lbs and the Marineland is 320 lbs. I'd still prefer Aqueon.

That seems expensive. Might want to reach out to Scott at Reef to Rift, or Matt or Mark at Natural Per in Norristown. Let them know you are Robin’s friend from MFK. You may get a much better deal. Let me know if you want me to call.
