How is this little guy doing? My buddy just picked one up and I have been thinking about grabbing one myself...maybe a pair. Is he adjusting to his new life alright?

He is doing great the place I got him from had him for months before I got him so he was sorta used to captivity

would beach sand be ok to use...

I wouldn't use Beach Sand for the mere fact that who knows what containment's are in it due to Water pollution and god knows what else.

if you go with sand, rinse it really well with warm water to get the salt out.

i would go with a thick (6"+) layer of dirt or aspen because it can hold a tunnel/burrow while sand can not... and these guys really love to dig around and tunnel as i'm sure you've noticed.

^i went with a playsand-topsoil mix instead and he actually prefers using a hide log or going under his branch pics:

apparently he is the subspecies uromastyx ornata philbyi not the usual uromastyx ornata...they look much cooler
