put one on hold as i have plans for a 3k tank possibly..

its a sad sight
the pima are 8 inches in a 85G hex
around 10 of um
with parasites.. flashing alottt
worst of all
i saw a couple buy one for Their " gigantic, massive, cant get any bigger" 75G
i told them this is potentially the worlds biggest fish
than a D0uche of a employee tells them it takes 50 years to get to 5 feet yup gshock oh joy is all i can say..

I hate to say this but this is one fish that shouldn't be offered for aquariums. just to many stupid pet store employees shoving these things out the door. But I know ya reulate one fish and someone will find a reason to regulate them all.

The problem with these fish isnt how big they get, or how fast they do it. The problem is that a person who thinks that a 75g tank is as big as they come, isnt knowlegeable enough to be taking on the responsibility of a fish this big. It can be done, people on here have shown that it can be done. The real question is, will the buyer be ready or not?

well the price tag should drive away anyone who doesnt know what kind of fish these are. which means to me, that they knew what it is and denied to give it a home of its mass.

85 hex? They were in a 105 gallon 5'x1.5'x2' when I was there earlier this week. And no flashing...arapaima very rarely get parasites...

You were told? Didn't you see them in the tank? A hex has 6 sides lol....to my knowledge Miss doesn't have any tanks like that unless they got moved in the dry good section into a display tank.
