That Arapaima is expensive. It was 50 dollars in orange county in many fish stores. That African Aro is the rare fish right now that is available supposedly. One shop had two babies 2 weeks ago, but no others had it. A MFK member recently said the shops around Westminster have them now.

I am sure your parent are proud :clap

I love thread jackers!

If you are not in OC or LA, then this store is worth considering. There is no need to drive a long distance, spend money on gas, and then stress the fish on a long car ride home. These are ready to go in San Diego. Regardless of the price, the fish is worth what people are willing to pay for them and the lengths that people will go to find good deals varies.

Fish is like the housing market. The same house at one region can be selling at a cheap price, and at another. It can be real real high! In short, it is a fair price at $189 at San Diego if the individual really really wants it. End of story.

Like the title of your post says, it's definitely "Unheard Of"...especially the price!

What is your fish store promising you to post this?

Honestly, absolutely NOTHING. I haven't bought any fish in forever. I just stopped by cause I was in the area and saw them. I am happy helping LFS's and seeing small businesses succeed. I was in there shoes at one time and I know it's tough in this economy. Anything I can do to perpetuate the hobby and the local economy is satisfying enough.
