OK some of you remember this thread I created back on December 20th 2007.
The Arapaima at this time was still 21-22".

I finally decided that the arapaima was big enough to go into Ted's 8000G Tank. I guesstimated the size while in the tank to be 26-27" but boy was I wrong! The fish was approx. 30" My cooler measures 27" diagonally inside and his tail had to curl at least 3" to fit in it.

Ted has 4 in his 8000G now. I have 1 more in my tank that I am growing out. It's already about 18" now.

Hi, newbie question. Can you please elaborate on this statement regarding the Grow-out Period:

and have been feeding it heavily.

I have a place to build a pond suitable for a Pima's Adult Humongous Size and I am interested to gather all the knowledge that I can before taking the "BIG" plunge.
