Hi, newbie question. Can you please elaborate on this statement regarding the Grow-out Period:

I have a place to build a pond suitable for a Pima's Adult Humongous Size and I am interested to gather all the knowledge that I can before taking the "BIG" plunge.

Thanks.

My definition of feeding heavily is feeding the fish until it stops begging for food. I may only have time once a day to feed but I will continue to drop pellets in or hot dogs for the arapaima to eat if it continues to come up and beg for food. Pretty much feeding on demand.

They are very fun fish to keep. I would say they are in my top 3 most favorite fish to keep. Just the sheer size, personality and appetite make them a REAL pet.

Right on. The last one I worked with was 'growth stunted' - and it was 6 feet long as a two year old.

opa, mais um brasileiro, que bom.

nao que eu acheio que fosse ser o primeiro, mas e sempre bom encontrar um que fale portugues.

sorry about the noob question, I was doing some calculations and now realized, aproximately, the size for the tank.

it's ok. We try to be helpful here.

yes it's in inches. majority of the people here on MFK are from the USA so the measurement are 90% in inches or feet.
