Arapaima Pond Build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ha, quite some done today.
The bottom-drain part is all finished and ok.
There's now water covering both drains and liner is pretty much straight in, nothing I want to get better than that.
2nd Settling Tank leaks like a sieve though, waiting for the last bit of water to stop draining and then see what the problem is/where it stops.
Sides and back wall are pretty much where I want them. Just waiting for more water, but want to have the dome for the 2nd drain finished and connected so I can just keep filling after that.

Looks great, huge with the white liner. Very happy with it.
Cheers,
Luc

2nd Settling Tank seems to stop leaking just below the tank bottom where it connects to the PVC Drain.
Will wait another hour to see if it stops there, then clean it out and get working inside...
Nice hot afternoon to do just that job...grrrr.

Hope it can be fixed easily, as in: leak not too deep into the pipe or I am efff'd for now....
In other news, looks like I can plan on 7 to 14 days to get moving for Mr. T.
Hope to finish filling tomorrow/Saturday, then connect a pump and have it circulating water through the first drain and settling-tank...
If that's all running smooth for a week, get the screens up on the sides and then it's a matter of pulling the trigger and move it..
From there on, start working on the bog-areas...

Think I found the leak already...indeed the connection between aluminium ring and the PVC drain.
Waiting for it to dry, then silicone it....
Wash more sand under the tank tomorrow when silicone is dry and it will be ok.
Minor 'annoyance'...
Also need to get the skimmer drain done, guess Saturday, while filling up, drill small holes, knock out the shape and then epoxy it.
Connect the skimmer to the liner if I can make it in time on the same day...
