Arapaima Pond Build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sorry for the crappy quality, it's a cheap'o Nokia.
Will try to get some time this afternoon with my normal (under water) camera...

And yes, he's still very sweet, except for the first prawn. We taken to it to drop the first one in the water, which he really snaps up like crazy, really like a child jumping around getting sweets.
After that, he knows and calms down, sweet as a baby again.

Can watch the feeding every day and it still puts a smile on my face... Amazing fish to have.

Cheers,
Luc

Mr. T is sheer awesomeness! I loved the feeding video! "Oh Mr. T, what a big mouth you have!" Wow! He is one handsome fish!

Thanks Pacu-Mom,...brings up the inevitable question since I've fulfilled my duties...heheheee..:

How is your progress on the tank...and where are the dozens of PICTURES of every screw, nut, bolt, hose, clamp, filter, tank that we need to see!

love the vids, your fish look amazing!

Thanks Yogurt_21, here's a new video from this morning.
It's very hot over here, so temperature of the water is a bit higher, sun shining full stop the whole day. Water looks greenish with the under water capture, though topside it's ok.
Will soon start working on more plants in the bog that currently still holds quite some open space. Just to pump up the capacity a bit.

Did finally replace Pump No. 2, Had a temporary bilge pump in it.
Now replaced with a real beast, 400 Watt, 30,000l/hr SP620.
Previous pump gave up, now waiting for replacement, still under warranty.

But with that new pump, I'll need to make some more adjustments, get a hose with a Y-shape splitter into two outlets, 1 on the old pipe, 2nd on a new under-gravel pipe.
So that will mean that I pretty much fill up the bog and then fill it completely with plants.
Second pump if running again or replaced, will be kept as spare.

enjoy the video,

Oh..almost forgot..
Got lucky this week, shop in the market had a nice big Koi, beautiful orange color, white big fins...
He only asked 10 USD for it... Not sure how big he is, forgot to measure, but should be between 15 & 20".

Your fish are so incredibly fortunate. Mr. T is living the fairy tale life--from storm drain to the palace you built for him--with people hand feeding him. Life could not get any better. He has a royal regal bearing. He looks like a king to me.

All Hail King T

Your whole set up is amazing, and so are the inhabitants. I hope i can someday build something as awesome as this
