Looking forward to seeing that pond finished as well. Though I really don't look forward to moving the fish itself. That will be a nerve-wracking experience sure.

This is a couple of pictures taken a couple of weeks ago, just after starting up the 'temp-filtering' solution.
The blue water pipes are from the pumps to the filter behind me.
Mr. T is still as friendly and curious as ever, always expecting to get food or just some attention.

Luc, he is a beast.
Look under the articles section of the site, and there is a thread from JohnPTC about how he moved his gigas. I believe that was around a 6 foot fish, but the principles should be the same.

Edit: here you go

Hello O.L., yes indeed, have read that thread multiple times in the past when I was building Mr.T. pond. Sedate him and keep his head above the water or he'll drown. No small feat what he did, but I need to move the fish on a truck to another location about 15 miles north on a trip with about a dozen speed-humps and the rest being typical Thai road-quality.
I'm going to sit with my contractor coming weeks to start planning for that and get around the table with the people he brings in to move all the fish. From what I found on the web, Mr. T, at 200cm should weigh in at about 100-125kg.. He sure feels that way when playing with him.

If the contractor's crew get my confidence on it, then we'll get to the details and setup a more detailed plan for it, sure to be fact-checked here so I don't forget anything!

Another option would be to get in touch with professionals, companies that specialise in moving animals.
Interesting times ahead!

Great update! That fish is simply huge! Looking forward to seeing the new pond built :)

Interesting read about a guy that had to move his fish to a new pond. Main part is moving an arapaima. He's wearing body-armour! to protect against getting hit by the arapaima.

From Lim Chu Kang to Dempsey, the enormous struggle of ...https://www.channelnewsasia.com › news › singapore › arapaima-fish-enor...
He has good reason! Jeremy Wade took a tail clap to the chest and it actually bruised his heart muscle if I recall correctly

Luc, someone else you may want to contact is My Aquatic Diary on Youtube. He had to move a 7 foot arapaima from his 13k to his 60k gallon pond - that's probably the closest to your situation.
