Around.....
thinking of going bare bottom for a cleaner new look. Is it stressful to the fish?

Thanks!

from what i've heard it's fine for most fish and is a great way to have a super clean tank.

it may be stressful to fish that have a need to dig, but as long as you don't have any fish who may become stressed out if they can't dig then you should be fine.

sweet i just have bichir and some random cichlids

well you can do a tiled tank, instead of a barebottom. looks hell of a lot nicer than rocks or sand and its easy to clean.

Bare tanks look so....bare....

I'd stress if I lived in a bare environ.....constantly seeing myself in the reflection....
you don't see your own refelection......

To give it a less "bare" feel and look, paint the bottom of it black.

My Oscar DOES see his reflection in the tank bottom. He sees it in dark areas of the sides, too. He's used to it now but it sure had him shaken up for a while there. Open mouth, turning green, etc.

I think that having a cleaner tank outweighs the stress of not digging, etc.

im planning on a bare bottem with a bichir pbass and placo are all those fishes ok

or sand and tile idk
