Just went to a cool fish store in my city to get some hikari gold and just browse around, they had a whole group of juvie Beani for $10 each. I was under the impression they were a rare fish? also had Haitiensis for only $8 and a bunch of other cool unusual stuff!

If I didn't know that Beani were an aggressive species I wouldv'e been very tempted to pick up one.

Very hard to growout. I would have grabbed a few for that price

yeah I was tempted but I don't have any tank space right now, its either in with 4"-5" cichlid community or in with a 2.5" one eyed oscar I am growing out.

I just knew that they are a rare fish, and I expected to see them costing around 20-30 dollars a fish.

I picked up a dozen 1.5" beani from a Chicago swap for $3.00 each a few weeks ago.

wow thats interesting, so has the price gone down quite a lot now then? I just remember reading on here from time to time that they are a rare sought after fish.

Before 2008 or 2009 you could have sold any beani you could find for over $100...supply and demand.

I can attest to this! I bought some along with Ruck Fules and Ewok from JoeFatFish from his collection trip and we were paying $125-$150 for some 1.5"-2" WC Beani. They're beautiful fish if you can get them to adulthood!
