Are bearded dragons good starter lizards??

could i put it in a 40 gallon for now??? cuz thats what i already have.... but i would get a bigger tank. i would save up to build one. ( good luck to a 13 yr old...... haha)

yes, like I said, I housed Yavie in a smaller tank for a while. I kept her in a 20g breeder until I could afford a larger tank. What you might be able to do is talk to your mom and/or dad, (not sure what your home situation is) Maybe you and dad could tackle building a custom tank for a summer project? (or mom if she's so inclined)

You could also check out http://www.customcages.com/index.cfm with your parents. The parts come all prefabricated, all you do is screw it together. I'm looking into one of these for my next tank. Maybe you could mow lawns this summer or something related to save the money.

They have a nice 50g for $250. I know it's a steep price but for a prefab cage made of melamine and glass and from what I have heard about them the cages will last a long time.

thanks!!! i will look into that. and one more thing. do u think this is a good trade?? an 8g itouch for a bearded dragon and everything that you would need for it. ( decorations, lights, tank, beerded dragon lol, etc...)?? just was wondering

that all depends on the person and the beardie. Be sure to spend some time watching and handling the beardie before making any final decisions, and because of your age be sure your parents are on board with this also.
