I have just had a call from the girlfriend to tell me that the betta I bought yesterday has died, It had wedged itself into a small hole in one of our rocks and could have been there most of the day until she got home from work. When she removed the fish from the rock it seemed to be alive still but only lasted a couple of hours at most before passing away. Is this normal behaviour for a new fish or did I just get the stupid one of the bunch? I have decided now that I will remove these rocks incase the same thing happens again.

bettas are highly intelligent fish. his curiosty probably got him in that jam.

Thats good to hear, I was starting to think that perhaps it was me that was doing something wrong. Also missing in action is one of my guppys which is nowhere to be seen.

My curiosity has gotten me into lots of jams as well. It doesn't make me stupid, I just don't think! Sorry to hear about the betta, good idea to fix it so they don't get curious again.

They are almost as bad as we who keep them, lol.
