Water conditioner has the same message not fit for human consumption, having said that I think Duanes had eaten some of his fish when they have annoyed him

[/URL]you look like a fun dude to hang out with lol if you're ever in NE PA, shoot me a PM and we'll go hit some fishing holesI spent time in Viet Nam many years ago, and had already been a fish keeper. In any of the fish markets baskets of small gouramis, climbing perch, and just about anything you can think of was sold to be eaten.
In many countries in Africa, and in Mexico and Central America cichlids are a staple.
I now live in Panama where cichlids like Peacock bass, catfish, and Umbis, are commonly pulled from Lake Gatun and local rivers to be eaten.
And because I seldom use medications other than salt, I will eat my cichlids rather than trash them. If ones gets badly beaten, os disfigured enough, into the pot it goes.

of course when I can get the from the local fishermen, ocean fish like Pargo (red Snapper) supply supply a much more substantial meal.

They'd be as safe as any other fish. You think tilapia farms in China are organic with no medication at all? heh.
duanes , thanks so much for posting the pics it looks beautiful there .
i am aware that almost all fish are a food source around the world . ive ate plenty of bass , pike , walleye , trout , muskie , catfish , even rock bass and sunfish and more lol .
heck i even ate carp which most people do not consider a food fish . although i did get a bone stuck in the back of my tongue after the first bite lol , as well as all manner of sea food from grocery stores .
im not near any ocean if i was i would surly fish and eat from the ocean as well . my grand parents used to can sucker fish another fish not considered a real eating fish .
but im just wondering if the fish in the tank are ok . i do use water conditioner and sometimes a binding agent for cloudy water or alage blooms and i did medicate but that was only once when the fish were much smaller . im not planning on eating them anytime soon lol but just incase lol
I doubt if they use any medications at all on the farms over there. They produce so many fish they probably don't concern themselves with a few sick looking fish here and there,if they would even notice them. But if they do it is probably not the same stuff we buy from a lfs. They'd be as safe as any other fish.
