I too like the forum format better. (in plural, that would be, I like FORA better).
I am not in any social media thing. When I Google something I am interested in (fish-keeping related), a lot of the findings are from Facebook and other such platforms. The information is often erroneous, as stated before, posted by people who just seem keen on seeing their "publications" out there.
In contrast, much of the information in this forum is generally of much better quality. JMO.

I think I'd prefer forums to social media groups because we can get a lot more valid information here I think. That's why I joined here. :)
Glad to have ya here bud ?

Couldn't help but to weigh in on this thread. I got away from social media platforms years ago. This forum works great for me because it's about fishkeeping by actual fishkeepers. The proof is in the pudding so to speak.from the information I've gathered followed by action my fish are healthy and my tanks look nice. I would like to see more of the members pictures of there collections , but I'm not sure as to navigate my way to it if it's here somewhere

Lol. That, but mostly I miss the amateur type DIY videos from 5-10 years ago. Today they're polished slick with production values, sponsored, and basically showing off. An example is Joey (KingofDIY). I don't begrudge him, the guy deserves every sub and dollar he gets as he worked his ass off, but I just relate better to a dude sitting on his couch putting together a PVC overflow. I've probably watched every video he produced the first 4-5 years, these days tho there's nothing there for me. Dudes like SerpaDesign and Fishman have certainly filled the void however, the hobby has room for lots of advanced DIY, thankfully there's some great content still.
