Are there any stingray species that are legal in California?

Set up a saltwater tank and get some legal rays. They are WAYYYYY cheaper than freshwater rays and you can get them at lots of LFS. I live in LA and I see 4 inch saltwater pups for 50 dollars. And this is at one of the more expensive LFS in West Hollywood. Plus they are silver and look like sharks...personally I like the way they look better than FW rays. And the California round rays don't grow larger than 9 inches, so your 180 would work.

Great pic.

It's not the cost of the Ray I'm worried about with Saltwater. It's everything ELSE. Saltwater isn't for everyone, and I just don't have the time to maintain a saltwater set up. Looks like I just won't be able to have rays in my tank. That sucks but still better than selling off all my freshwater fish then plumbing the tank for saltwater and spending hundreds or even thousands moving to saltwater.
