Are These Longnose?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think the Tropical sounds better, then, thanks. None of my fish are really aggressive, but having something that's more hardy and is a semi-aggressive would probably be better. I should probably have a 30" wide tank going before getting one since they get larger than FL/spotteds and grow quickly, or so I've heard.

not really true according to jordon, he says his is stuck @ 15"

mine is only one year old though...you need to keep that in mind, but he has seemed to really slowed down in growth. i would think 30" to be a stretch.

4 out of the 10 I have are currently 4 years old and range from 15 to 18 inches..Average growth per year after the first year is 1/2 to 3/4 inches during the growth season.

that seems about right. mine darted to the 15" mark then seemed to have hit a wall. he seems to be putting on more girth, but not so much length.

I keep mine with a black aro and polys at 79 degrees, but I think I have just been lucky. My aro is very docile, but as with all fish it is a case by case basis. Also, you need to be ready for them to grow really fast. Mine has grown from 6-7" to 15" in 3 months. Just for comparison that is 1/2" a week.

Yeah same here in a tank with some big fish.. higher temp and so far not skittish at all.. I was told he'll get pwned pretty easily but haven't had a problem yet.

cool, well I'll keep a look out for tropicals, too, then.
