Are they pets or collections ?

Both here too.

My marbled gobies are named Pheonix and Mojave (where they were bought kind of).

One of my senegal bichirs is named Stumpy because I originally only got two and Stumpy had pecs chewed off. I'm starting to think that lil one may be perpetually stunted.

I would have to say pets, because I don't really have enough fish to call it a collection.

I don't name any of my fish, though. My DD and DH wanted to name the oscar were are going to get "Myer" :screwy: which I think is really lame.

Oh wait, I did name my first fish Filbert, but I was 7.

I have named a couple and had a couple named for me but mainly no. I had a large rbp that lived alone that was named Kipper and an american eel that was named Tacticus.

Mine are collections. I like to look at them.

Cool! we have a different answer ! How big is your collection now?

Of course everybody likes to look at their fish !

I added I like to look at them to emphesize that they are strictly collections. If a fish dies( very rarely ) I'm not sad, I'm pissed that I couldn't keep it alive for whatever reason, but I get over it very quickly because that means more room for a new fish!

My collection is very small right now, just getting back in to it. Also I'm planning to buy a bigger house within a year. Thats when the big un' is coming, looking at least a 670 gallon. Now I have a 50 ( 31X20X18 I think ) with a male A. festae and 3 red hook silver dollars. A 20 gallon with 2 cory cats, rainbow shark, rainbow cichlid, Marmino balls, and an Anniubus nana.

stakes are higher when you keep bigger fish. Nice fish 15 inches and larger
really pisses me off when they croak. I was kinda moody for a few days a few mos
ago when my nice jardini jumped off a rubber maid container.

Filbert.. thats a unlikely name for a fish. But what do i know, i dont name em.

I guess if I ever got a hold of a asian aro or something else not easily replaced I MIGHT feel differently. Yea, any fish over $500 would probably leave me with a queesy stomach, but I still don't think I would be sad. I don't see myself loving a fish.

thats cool . Expensive fish are always tough losses but you should
already keep that in mind the day you purchase them.
