I have a brother and we dont really talk unelss we need to do. We have our own lives and he doesnt really want to talk or have much to do with the family, he just likes to keep to himself so we dont bug eachother. Its a sorta weird relationship b/c sometimes I dont really feel like I have a brother. (dont get me wrong I love my brother despite many things).

I agree, but I'm an adult. I think lots of kids with sibs wish they were only children at some point in their lives. It's sad when only children become elderly, sometimes they don't have any living relatives at all.
I like my sister, but we're 7 years apart, so we were BOTH kind of like only children at different points, and we're not really "close" like some sisters are. But, coming from a rather strange family, I will say that there's absolutely NO ONE who can understand certain things but someone who's been there, too! My husband (and his normal family) just don't get some of our jokes!
