so i see you keep the high end temp at 78-80, and low of 72. what would you suggest as to a constant temp, if one was not setting up a variable temp setup?

going from my tiger rays the thrived at 78f and cooler..

love to see u david on here i agreee with the salt at high levels scares me to use to much

Glad to have you back! It's people like yourself that kept me on this forum in the first place, and honestly the lack of solid, honest info like you posted, that has seen me checking in less and less lately.

That was a very interesting and enlightening read.. Me still being new to rays i'm glad i took the time to read this thread.. I'm gonna go turn my heaters down a little now..lol

great stuff !@! great info .. as for the water changes myself having never had a problem with daily or every second day wcs , as i used to keep discus and tropheus which demanded clean water !!, so far with my new guys the previous owner had them on a 5 day cycle , im keeping it at a 3to 4 day ?? wc

i like the temp idea something to think about , very interesting indeed , thanks for the wealth of knowledge keep it coming please ..:D

Very well put together Dave, It is great your sharing this info for all of us to read over and keep the mind turning. This was much needed with some great info. Thanks for sharing

Nice to see your return!

wow a great thread.. i'm printing this as it so many info. Temp is no major concern from my end as I'm in asia and my tank is outdoor.. so day and night temp changes happen naturaly. but the WC part and meds part realy..realy good info. Dave, would like to have ur permission to copy ur message and share in another forum where the ray keepers overthere can have the benefits as well.

i have noticed for me the cooler water around 75ish in the winter at times has not seemed to affect my rays in any negative ways and the water does seem clearer and less food used etc.....
