Living here, I've seen firsthand the injury that Channa Micropeltes does to people. And im sure that the majority of you are familiar with the parential devotion of these fish. Yep, I've seen a guy got a chunk taken out of his arm by momma channa. From what I was told, the guy was spearfishing for this species underwater, and decided to aim for the "luk krok".
Theres a reason that people catch this species with rod and line instead. Although it was funny to see a guy's cast net ripped up. Not just by a Channa, but also by 2 Clarias gariepinus/macrocephalus. Oh well, the stories of this fish will never end, although ive seen one in a lake that was definately over 5 ft.
