Kept my old Lungfish with 2 huge ID sharks, they were fine for a month, then 1 day i come into the room to find half of the shark sticking out of my Lungfishes mouth, end of that.
My SAL lives with a breeding colony of endlers, and a few otocynclus, and so far, no problems. But then again, he is still barely over a foot long, and a SAL.
Wouldn't want to try the same thing with an african species. (Not sure about australians, but as those are far beyond my price range, anyway, it'd be mostly an academic point, anyway.)
I keep my 28"+ Australian Lung Fish in a community tank. His tankmates are:
18" tigrinus
3X18" Tropical gars
2X15" spotted gars
10" Schroederi Flower ray
16" Korean perch
10" Widebar Dat
9X14"-17: Endli
16" ornate
some others too!
