yup you packin

personally it would be a touch an go thing for me since i have 7 kids and in this scenario i dare say saddly we would have some serious issues but suffice it say provided i could get us outta the city living off the land would be no issue been trained for that we live about a half hour walk out of the city

the other aspect that woudl be a crap shoot of sorts is the hope that like minded decent people would be able to group their resources and survive with the help of each other

i would think that initially i would hole up in our house and put our back against the wall shall we say there is a hidden storage area in our house that simply looks like its a wall panel and you would not know its there unless you knew it was there

being able to prepare edible food outta next to nothing easy to do getting my hands on weapons other than knives and bows might be a challenge since gun laws up here in canada are different

just b/c you have guns doesnt make you a killer.......
would you kill another human when you needed food they had?
thats the real question.
true survival......nobody is safe.

I would not kill another human for the food they have...that is why we have our own food. I would, however, defend my family's food if necessary...anyone that trys to take away my son's chance of survival will have to answer to me and my guns :)

I have some rifles, a bunch of deer and other critters around, and a nice creek and stream near me, I'd be fine till my 4 wheeler ran out of gas
lol

I also have a pond for my fish..

in the actually reality

I CAN BAKE MEAN PIES

hopefully we could all jsut sit down an eat pie

A quality gas mask and filters are a good idea and can be had for pretty cheap from milsurp supply companies. I am at a point right now that if got as bad as the need for a gas mask, I am screwed. I could only survice something minor, like civil unrest/anarchy and not something like a nuclear/biological war, volcano eruption, or meteor impact. :(

Body armor, I figure it would probably be pointless in a SHTF scenario, too many people with rifles and the body armor I can afford would not even slow down a rifle bullet. :/

Part of me wishes I could move my family to my cousin in laws cattle ranch in Paraguay in the middle of NO WHERE and live off the land. I would be perfectly happy but I know my wife wouldnt be even though she is from there and I wouldnt want my daughter to grow up isolated like that. Saying that, a place like that could survive pretty much any financial meltdown, war between super powers (unless Brazil and Argentina decide to inavade again while the rest of the world is pre-occupied), or civil unrest. After all, its hard to move backwards if your in a third world country. lol

Well, make that your SHTF plan...you start seeing things going downhill, take a 2 week vacation and head to your cousins. If everything is ok, then come back home no problem...if everything is not ok, then you stay there. :)

Those of you that dont live in a part of world that is totally isolated "hunting and living off the land" will not last long. Take where I live. There is over a million people in the county, the surrounding counties are much less populated and have lots of animals but trust me, it would take more then a month or two before everything is killed and eaten. Hunting wont last long, you have to come up with something else.

Again this brings me back to where I am at now. I can go a month tops, after that wow....it would be rough.
