I have to agree it is a bit much here compared to other fours I'm on.
Grammar I'm not so hard on as I am pretty sure mine sucks but it is readable, Spelling on the other hand I suck greatly at but thats why I use a spell checker. I don't get why more people don't use the spell checker.
The abbreviations to the point that you post is unreadable I don't understand. If you want an answer to a question should you not wright the question so others can read it? I can't see blaming this all on the schools or instant messaging it's just plain laziness in my eyes. I look at it the same way I look at cursing, I curse like a sailor but there is a time and a place for it and you have to know when and where it is appropriate.

The general level of English on these boards is terrible compared to most other communities and forums that I participate in. I realize there are many participants from around the globe who aren't from primarily English speaking countries, but a quick look at their location under their username gets a pardon from me. If you disagree with me and think that the amount of kids on these forums that refuse to even try to type remotely reasonable English is acceptable, then I can understand why you think what I've written is ****.

It's not an age thing either, there's numerous members on these forums that are in their early teens (Mystix212 for example) that type great logical responses in proper English. I'm willing to make the direct correlation between people being dumb and not posting proper English too, the two go hand in hand.

I think it's a disgrace, but because you share a different opinion you just say I'm talking 'feces'. Way to be all grown up.

thats because MFK is actually active and you gotta keep up.You thinking I'm not worth while because I don't take the time to type perfect grammar is the crap part.Ive never met a grown up that thinks this way and my friends are all teachers,lawyers,you name it,so its really hard for me to see your reasoning behind the dismissing someone because of the way they write on a website.Man thats the saddest thing I ever heard.I read all the time by the way.Well just so you know,Im a very well liked individual in my community and my typing did not put me in that spot.God bless and good luck making friends once you tell them they are out once you see they cant write.

I don't know about dismissing you, but when you write like a child, most of the time the childish acts are not far behind. Saying you don't want to take time to spell correctly is a cop-out. Abbreviations are fine, but 3 key strokes is saving time? Come on.

EDIT: YOU not meaning you in specific, but as a general rule.
AND, might I add, I have lived in California my entire adult life, and this is mostly an American issue. Other countries have grammar and language skills as a primary teaching goal.
