I know you say, 4-6 and I plan to 4-6 but can they be of different colors, and/or sizes? I have a LFS who breeds and raises discus, but he keeps the snowwhites with the snow whites,marbros with marbros, etc etc and they all cost different prices, 4-6 juvies that are 3-4 inches would work best right, and I have fish that doesn't go with discus I'm selling them to a guy today, and plan only to keep the cory cats,gold nugget,and clown plecos. I have a 135.

Hi FishyJoe... If you are planning on selling the others you mentioned and putting discus in the 135 I recommend if you can swing it to get 8 or so.. They will be much happier in a bigger group and the tank can certainly handle that many.. You can get whatever colors/color combinations you like.. The breeder keeps them color separated for breeding purposes to protect the strain breeding line.. If you are not breeding, it doesn't matter.. it's a matter of personal choice.. I would however, recomend that you get them all about the same size.. less chance of a runt being picked on by everyone else and more likely hood they will all be equally able to get to the food.. That said.. they will establish a pecking order and someone will always be on the bottom of the list.. Good luck with your tank... Sue

thanks guess I will have to get juvies for now. a guy had 5- 5 inch discus
for $100.00 but I was the second caller I hope the first guy who called doesn't get them.

We have BN plecos in almost all of our discus tanks without incident. In fact we've only had 1 instance of known pleco discus predation and it was from a a rather hungry Snowball LDA033.
Other plecos and clean-up crew we commonly use (off the top of my head) are Royal Plecos, O-cats, Nerite snails and Amano Shrimp.
