My greedy guppies, or baby factorys as I call them, love seeign me, because I feed them. My neons dont come up to see me but they also don't run from me, when i come up to the tank.

However my bala sharks a scary fish, maybe thats how they are, but they are super scary.

if i walk past my mayan it gets scared and rushes away. but if u stay there for a few seconds it comes to the glass and bashes it trying to eat me.. .but the glass is really thick so this 11" fish is making as much damage as a guppy would =P

My Malawis are like little puppies when I come up to the tank. My large CA/SA cichlids are hit or miss. When I walk by the tank and don't stop, they scatter and hide. But if I walk up to the tank to feed them, they are super excited. My Flowerhorn hides whenever I come up to the tank as do the several hundred baby JDs I have. My wife's community tank goes nuts when one of us come to the tank. But I do miss my old Oscar. He was an aquatic version of a dog. He would wag his tail and follow me everywhere in his tank and would take food out of my hand. The second I would walk into my house, he would start.

i truly believe they get to know you after awhile..even the ones that don't want to know you finally give in and hope you feed them... :D

My CA's all hide as soon as anyone comes into the fish room; some of those fish I've had well over a year. Every time I try to get a picture of those tanks it's like: "Oh look, a picture of an empty fish tank!

My BGK NEVER comes out from his hiding spot. If I want to see him I have to sneak down to the tank at midnight with a dim flashlight. I actually getting pretty bored with that fish.:irked:

The planted tank residents (livebearers) all get excited to see me, they crowd the surface of the tank waiting for food.

Now the goldfish; I have to say they have a lot of personality, even my DH likes them. They are always out and active. They will follow you as far as the tank lets them.:D

My cats run when i make quick movements near them. Like making my bed and stuff scares them and if i move fast while watching them they hide, but if i move slow they will come near me and they like to watch me as much as i watch them. They always calm down when they see me pick up the food can.

i agree i also think lively tank mates help. my black aro would freak out anytime i walked by but now he's in with a couple friends (jar, RTGG, delhezi bichir) and he's way more relaxed, and eating better. +1 for dithering :)

my jack is gone when i come within three feet of the tank, my loaches beg for food like theyve been starved
