Hello! I got this 5-6 inch argentea today from a lfs. When I got him home I noticed this on on his pectoral fin. It appears to have a broken ray. Do you guys think it might heal? Thanks! He is currently solo in a 75g.

On the 2nd pic it kinda looks like an old injury. The ray has snapped off and remains present in the fin tissue, & the fin edge looks smooth & clean. I doubt that the ray will regrow, but the fin area might close up with consistently clean water as
tlindsey said, and good nutrition. I would add salt at 1tbsp/5gal in addition to your water changes
The soft rays sometimes regenerate.
But if the ray is snapped off at the bony section, it may be impossible to regrow
The rays on the caudel of this Paratilapia never regrew
Only time will tell, and as tlindsey aleady commented, lots of water changes.
M argentea come from rheophillic (fast flowing) waters, with minimal nitrate (0 to 5 ppm), so low nutrients waters may give growth a boost.
Hard to tell by the angle of your pics, but it looks to be female, by the more defined markings.
