Argh New oscar question

Oscars are what ive kept the most and they never cease to amaze me. i do not have any at this time cause im dabing in ebjd which so far has been a real challeange. i think oscars live longer when in pairs but when one goes the other gets heart broken they are really a amazing fish.(pet)
 
Thats why I love Oscars.. they are so fun... he should be good.. Keep us posted! :)
 
He's doing great! The only problem being that he will not eat anything but silversides. He wont touch flake foods at all. I tried hikari floating and sinking carnivore pellets with no success.
 
You'd be surprised. How big is the tank? It might help him to eat if you put another O in there that does eat the pellets. They usually love the hikari cichlid gold, the red pellets. Mine don't like the green ones lol. They lay on their sides if I put the tank back together the way I want it. Then they tear it apart again. Just oscars. If you want to lower your ph, without killing your fish, I've found that when I put driftwood in my tanks, the ph drops gradually. I also have a high ph out of the tap. The more water changes you do, the less nitrates you'll have as well.
