Armatus bickering- When is enough enough???

So how is the larger one holding up in the big boy tank?

They heal up very well contrary to what I have read. I was always lead to believe that being small scaled they developed bacterial infections from wounds and stress causing any kind of scale damage. So far I have seen quite the opposite.

My middle one had similar gashes on at least 3 occasions when in the 55 but have healed to where you can barely see any scarring.

My smallest one had eye damage to the point that it was at least 4 times its size and full blood. But it went down within a week and all blood gone in 10-14 days. No visible signs of damge at all and neither ever stopped eating. Also while in the 55.

The big boy tank isn't being too kind to the larger one. Fins got all tattered the first few days as Robert relentlessly harassed him, but has since let up a bit. I think the whole pecking order is still being established. It's actually surprisingly calm considering what's in there, and the fact there's really no dithers in there anymore......

And I definitely agree, some of these Characins seem to have some pretty amazing healing powers. The big Vatf's eye is almost healed up after being completely whited out, I assumed he'd always have a screwed up eye but even that is healing.

IF Robert continues with his shenanigans with the Armatus then I'll just put the other Dorado and Knife back in to switch up his focus........ :)

Any better pics of the dorado Alan? Looks to be showing nice coloration.

I'll try to get some but you might have to settle for a vid, my camera no longer has a working flash, which means Robert's always a blur. He's definitely quite a bit brighter then the similar sized Franciscanus I have here. Not sure if there's actually more yellow or it's just a matter of the stripes being darker on the Francy.

IF Robert doesn't let up on the Armatus soon the other Dorado will go back in with him to give the Armatus a break...... Will be neat to see the differences between the two species when they're swimming together at roughly the same size. I know it will put to rest a question I've wondered about for years......... :)
