You may be correct but since I have never seen or heard of this yellow fin type and the more commonly sold scombs dont have fins of this color I just assumed that there wre more than one species.

mine have the yellow on the pectoral fins, it's slight, rest are clear. younger fish like ones in photo are more silver. as they get older, that fades and darkens. haven't seen any other color configs here. but have noticed scombs seen online have different body shapes. mine are really tall like a butcher knife/cleaver but some are more elongated.

What the hell??? Rich why would you even bother taking the time to post the pics of your vaca??? I am a little confused with this whole thread. If you want the fish pay the price. If you do not want to pay the price do not buy it. Armatus are rare. Vendors are here to make money right? I am sure they love what they do, and I know a lot of them probably love the hobby themselves but it is a business. They have to make money. If they can get a good profit off a rare and wanted fish more power to them. GET ON A PLANE AND FLY DOWN THERE AND GET IT YOURSELF IF IT IS THAT EASY AND CHEAP. I am not sure of the costs involved as I am sure many of the people who think they do know.
I would never take the time to justify myself as Rich did. I haven't done much business with him but the few times I did he was great. I got in on the last Armatus gig and all worked fine. I am really trying to figure out how this thread got so out of hand.

reading this thread has shown me how much of a stand up guy rich is. after all this crap he still brings in armatus for a great price. my hat goes off to him

I am from Canada and a Vendor in British Columbia just emailed me and said that they are getting Armatus in at the end of the month for $80 to $100 each. Now thats a smoking deal if they turn out to be Armatus!
