Tfd fish are not half the quality of john! They are a wholesaler and their fish are in and out not maintained well at all! Plus they charge like $100 dollars per box ill take my gamble dont come and bash!

Guys, i am no expert, but i am thinnking scomb. Maybe an armatus in there... where is JD or DB?

I am thinking the tails are too small..

Here's my armatus but it's about 5"-6" and 100% armatus. It doesn't have the little black spot underneath the gills and as you can see all the lower fins and tail have a white outline also the small fin closest to the tail has orange on it. I don't know how big they have to be before the orange and white show up though.

I hate to say it but I'm leaning towards scomb but I'm no expert. Just my opinion. Take a close up pic when you get a chance of one of the bigger ones and maybe you'll be able to see the markings better or if any white is on the fins. Good luck. Either way they are some healthy looking payaras.

The body toward the head looks very deep to be an armatus. But parts of the fish do look toward armatus.

snookn is there a black circle by the gill or more black line?

It is difficult for me to be 100%, but in post 27 I do not see this fish as an Armatus.
