Hope it doesnt get to that point, however if it does....call me ;)

DAMN that was a nice bass though, and your tank looks nice Gav. I hope mine turns out as nice...
Laz, yeah that sucks, but I had fist dibs on him...:ROFL:

The great thing about Payara is how fun it is to watch them eat something 3/4 the size of themselves. Then again the bad thing is when they eat something not a feeder

I lost a 4" ATF to a 5" Scomb a few years back. I learned not to underestimate their ability to stuff themselves.

It really sucks for the fish being eaten. Not only are you still alive for the 5 minutes or so that he swims around, you have two spears stuck in you and you know you will die but there's nothing you can do about it. It's like being tortured before you're killed....:nilly:

Update: Lost my armatus. He tried several times take down one of my datnoids and took a real deep dorsal spine injury to the eye. The datnoid eventually died from the stress of repeated stalking by the armatus.
My armatus lost vision in the eye (fixed pupil) and had difficulty competing for food, growing weaker over a period of 1 month. Eventually developing exothalmus (popeye) and subsequent septicemia (blood streaked fins and labored breathing). Was unable to get successfully get antibiotics moving him was not a option. Did try a last ditch futile effort to force feed antibiotics when it was apparent he was going to die without intervention but he was to far gone.

At least he went out like they sometimes do in the wild, going after a meal.....Remember that scene from Rivermontsers where Jeremy rescued that armatus from choking due to it trying to engulf a fish more than half it's size.
