aro barbs

hey guys

i have a 8-9 inch silver aro and my mayan cichlid bite off one of his barbs will this ever grow back or will it affect the fish in any way

well are you talking about the barbels or the fins???? depending in how much to the body its bitten off it might grow back......but pics will help.

it got his barbel all the way to his jaw I'm at work will post pix when i get off BTW that is a nice male mayan I have a breeding pair hence the agro and the missing barbel

yea it should grow back, mines got one of his nipped but they are both the same size now.. he only lost the tip though, but just give it some time

that sucks, it had such nice long barbels. If it doesn't grow back, try picking at the base with a needle to stimulate the growth cell.

it should grow back but no guarantees as it looks like it's missing from the base
