ARO CHASING ITS TAIL!

MY BLACK ARO HAS BEEN CHASING ITS TAIL IN CIRCLES. IS THAT NORMAL BEHAVIOR? ANYONE EVER EXPERIENCE THAT BEHAVIOR WITH THEIR ARO? I'VE ONLY SEEN MY DOG DO THAT.

its called tail biteing

it can be a bit problem as the aro can rip their own tail to bits

Watch out. My cousins one bit half its own tail off! Didnt think that could happen but he had tailless aro to prove it!

i think something some aros just do i have never had it before so dont know how to stop it

i have hurd some people say its a parasite problem

some aros just do it for no reasons.
mine did . i remember it biting half its tail off..
however its a pretty healthy fish and the bitten tail eventually grew back.

My 16-17" silver went through that a couple weeks ago. He had his tail shredded up pretty good. Treated with melafix for a couple days and he quit doing it and the tail healed up well.
