aro eating shrimp with head n tail

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The shell is great for the arow, but i would remove the sharp part of the tail and the sharp head parts. Just in case... dont want anything bad to happen and then regret later

My RTG removes any shell attached....The pbass though eat it shell-on. Mind you the pbass would probably eat brussels sprouts if I threw them in.....

yes, shell is high in nutrients and carotene ?
vitamins also?

i am still considering feeding shelled prawns, with no head, its still viable economically.
Yep, shell on his higher in vitamins and has most of the carotene of the shrimp on it. Shell on actually does more benefit, plus it doesnt have any sharp parts on it. If its too bit for your aro, then you can just chop it in half, the shell will still stay on as long as you make one clean cut without detaching the shell from the flesh.

Not to say you cannot do it, but there is a risk the aro gets stabbed with the sharp head shell, you dun wanna risk your 1000+ fish.

Another theory is our tank water is recycle water, unlike rivers and lakes the water is pretty clean hence tank fish gets infection easier.

yes, my aro eats the shell right in
no chewing is involved, grab, bite and swallw.
i find that my 1.5 by himself is very picky, chews, and picky with food.
i find that with my rtg, its in with ALOT of other fish, he tends to be not picky. doesnt take pellets but, with srimp, will take as much as he can till he is ful.
the 1.5 is very picky and doesnt eat as much.
instinct i quess.
i never seen my aro break up the shell, it either swallows or spits it out...much like a po rn star

haha..

I feed head but not tail..
