Oh this was a brilliant day, i went to get some more silicone for my tank...

I see this shop and they had a 4ft 55gal tank (SAME AS MINE), with an aro and FH (but very young) aro was around 4 inches? FH was around 3inches.

So i go and ask them "ehhhh thats an aro right?" LOL... (this is one of the biggests aquariums in sydney, very good reputation)

they told me

I could easily keep an baby around (4 inches), in a 4 ft with my FH for 2 years easy, as long as i keep the water CLEAN...and said but after a year and half you will need an upgrade for sure.

TRUE OR FALSE? lol If true HELL YEAH im getting one!

I would first ask..what kind of aro? and get along with your FH doesnt sound right .You have to remember that people working at a LFS are not always Your friends and mainly want to sell u fish..If by chance you FH would get along with the Aro..i would say 6-8 months tops...

^^ whats the slowest growing aro? lol i will try to get that then IF only IF, it is compatible with my FH, my fh is only 3 inches btw. Hopefully, might get used to my aro.

+1 Aro will outgrow the turn around room in a 55 quickly 4 to 8 months that's if it even gets along with FH. If you do get one go with a silver it will last you longer then a jar as they have a more flexible body for turning

:p what about a jardini? my FH is a must though :p

I was thinking instead ofputting a GT in their with my FH for the next 1 - 2 years... (then upgrade) i was thinkin FH and Aro or jardini :p

upgrade the tank first:P then we can talk about adding a aro lol

^^ damn you LOL... i JUSt got my 4ft hahaha... :p i was originally getting GT and a Electric Blue ... since for 1-2 years they should be fine in that tank (unless they fight).

But im over-doing it with an aro huh? LOL

yep.. the aro isn't gonna last long in a 55.. best to forget about that.

FH seem to be solitary fish.. they don't like company from what i've seen. and they don't like people, and they don't seem particularly interested in food either, especially if people are involved.

we got a FH in a used tank deal a long time ago and had to give her away. we couldn't put her with any of our other fish, she tried to kill them. and i really needed the tank for the fish that i actually bought and wanted.

^^I bet your FH was matured when you got it :) therefore, not used to any of your fish. I keep my baby fh (3inches) with clown loaches, rainbow sharks, jewels... he sometimes chases the jewels thats about it :)

Try to keep them from young together, rather than introducing new fish when they are big.

The risk is there. Flowerhorns are unusually aggressive in general. No way would I advise keeping them with any fish but that's up to you to take the risk. Sooner or later as your flowerhorn matures, it will eventually turn on your other fish. Never underestimate your fish or you learn the hard way.;)

And you cannot keep jardini with any of your fish either.

How much water volume does your tank exactly have if it's 4 feet? Or post the width and height as well. Your tank sounds overstocked to me.
