125cm length, 45 cm width and 1.5 ft height.

Have not set it up yet, but going for FH,GT and Oscar (all 3inches). Upgrading after a 1 and half or 2 years for sure.

Actually if i get a good job again, ill probably upgrade in a year :p but lets say 1 and half.

-two filters (its Aqua one, cant remember the model of the top of my head, but one came with my 20 gal and the other is for the 55 gal)
also

-2000 litre per hour water pump
-Air pump

Yeah the aro is probably a bad idea. I have a 55 gallon set up right now which is what i think you have, and about 2 months ago i picked up a 4 inch silver. He was too small to go in any of my bigger tanks, so I put him in my 55 grow-out tank with a few pbass. I'm now setting up a 125 for them (aro is still to small to go in my 300 or other 125) because he nearly doubled in size in a little over two months.

Unless you have the ability to upgrade within a few months, I would stay away from any aro. And I'm not even sure if they would get along with your fish either.

A silver aro on average should grow 1 to 2 inches a month... i got mine about 8 months ago at 6 inches and put him in a 135 gallon... he is around 21 to 22 inches now... good thing is i just got a 600 gallon... but i couldn't imagine trying to keep one in a 55 gallon for more than 3 to 4 months even if ya got him at 4 inches... sry bud

I read a health well but not overfead silver arrow will break 1 ft in a year easy, at that point the fish cannot turn around so you need a new tank.after 6 months to prevent this from becoming a issue, get a tank first.

I have never seen a flowerhorn that wasn't a glass banger/murderer, and a 55 gallon is about the worst footprint tank you can buy.....Get a bigger glass box, then worry about getting more monsters...

I was thinking instead ofputting a GT in their with my FH for the next 1 - 2 years... (then upgrade) i was thinkin FH and Aro or jardini :p

You mentioning 1-2 years living with a 55g........You on Monstefishkeeper.scom, 50% of all members on the board upgrade to larger tanks within 2-5 months of learning more about the hobby here...The other 50% are just drop out feeders..............A JArdini will do fine in a 100g, check craigslist.com for some used ones....Major cities such as Sydney will offer dam good prices for used tanks over 75g+......

Most silver/black arowanas hit 24" in their first year. Not to mention a young aro could be easily killed by a small FH. They're a bit fragile.
