Aro with holes on scales down both sides

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'd just try to maintain better quality water parameters.
What are your filters? Might want to consider if they can handle your bio-load.
And possibly up twice the w/c weekly. Thats a monster stock list
Good luck with your aro by the way, good frame and rims in previous threads

My filters are an fx5 an xp3 and two 560l rated sponge filters, and do you mean 2x70% wc as i do 2 x 40% already and what does good frame and rims in previous threads mean?

Cheers steve

70% w/c is alot, just stick with 2 40% per week. I don't know what to tell ya..

Frame and rims... I was referring to the aro's body and rims of the scales. I think you have a very beautiful piece and I'd never dare to overstock a tank with that aro :D

I keep my tank very light in stock with tons of media and a u.v. and weekly 30% w/c. So far so good.

I don't know whats the cure for this disease, but I do know if you lighten up your stock, it's way easier to ensure better water management.

Have you checked any other aro forums for help?

Hi buddy the trouble is if i lighten the stock,he kills everything, its quite a happy tank and i know its overstocked but when they were not all in there he would sit arond alot and just attack everything,il keep doing the changes and ive put alot of seechem biomax in the fx5 so hopefully it will get better.
Thanks for your help.

Steve

Just to clarify something,im doing 2 x35 to 40% wc a week,
do you think if i just get rid of say 3 tinfoils this would help would help enough?

Yes, less fish=less bio load. I'd hate to see you break up your happy community tho. Do you have another tank to place the TF barbs?
How about a full tank picture? I'd love to see your set-up :headbang2

Hi bud ive got other tanks but not anywhere i can put the tinnys
I know its quite full but according to the stock check things ive looked at its not at anywhere near maximum, but il up the temp a bit and put in some amquel which is like a nitrate remover and a general feel good stress relief for the fish and keep doing the two 2wc at about 35to40% and see how it goes and i may put some salt in as well at a tablespoon per gallon.

And il try and get some full tank shots on the computer tomorrow, but if you search my posts i have put quite a few on recently in the aro datnoid and poly sections.

Steve
