Ive seen feeding vids, but doesn't a centipede have the potential to screw up an aro?
You seen the fangs on those guys?

i would imagine many insects and things an aro eats in its natural habitat have teeth. never seen a centipede, so dont know just how big them bad boys are. would think bug eaters had a way to deal with it, or something:confused:

I've seen lots of videos of people feeding their large arowanas pinkys. Haven't seen too many feeding full grown mice. Either way I wouldn't do it, mice are cool and could be another pet. Breaks my heart when I see a helpless pinky flopping in the water just to get eaten by a giant aro. Now, them eating bugs and critters I don't mind.

ok feeding mice to aros is cruel and deff not part of there natrual diet. also i will add. mice while still alive will do anything to remain alive. when people use glue traps mice chew there own fet off to attempt to get away

it may hurt it
but if you see or tried doing it
the aro instinctively drowns the mouse first
no doubt in nature, they will take opportune moments if a smal mamal like a mouse falls in and eat it too.
they drown it and no more kicking when themouse has gone to heaven.
it can only hur it when its alive but usually they die quickly, the aro will squeeze the air out and drwn it just like a snake crushes the food first

I have another feeding question: I have a motoro in the tank with my aro, and I have never fed my ray any ghost shrimp, but I was planning on buying a bunch and tossing them in the tank for her. Would the aro eat any (I would think so), and if so, could this be a bad idea?

I sometimes feed my aro leftover mice from my snakes, however, they are already dead...

They can get over 15''

Would feed a live frog but not a live mouse? Doesn't make much sense to me. Fish eat mice and small animals in nature. Why not in a tank?
