aros and live mice?

why would you want to feed mice dont you think its cruel :screwy:

I think its cruel - I dont know why really though, maybe because a mouse is a rodent, and its a furry creature, not like feeder fish - just seems unnatural or just wrong to feed it to the aro. Then again, if I owned a snake I dont think Id feel that way.

i would assume mice or any mammal would be too fatty for a fish to eat whole..whithout trimming the fat of first..let alone how much harder it would be to digest the bones they're not used to..

besides why would anybody choose mice over a good pellet food to feed fish anyways? ..other than the fact some people get off on the torture of other animals.:irked:

feeding mice to snakes or other reptiles is totally fine to me..b/c i feel their bodies are made to eat and digest those types of food..

i don't know about you guys.. but, i don't bait my hook w/ mice when i go fishing! lol

Well, the bones arn't a problem, but the fat is.

than why are there mouse topwater lures for bass?

sometimes we are feeding aros freezing baby rats here in China.
it was said that baby rats are very nutrient:D

yeah, i made the mistake of feeding a centipede to a fish and the cent. bit the fish's mouth and caused paralysis for 12 hours(it was a 6 inch goldfish)

Since were on the topic, what do you guys think is the best foor for aros? Ive been feeding mine prawns, krill, and worms. Im going to move over to some hikari pellets too I think. Any ideas on food choice?

When small 4" - 10" my silver ate live crickets, superworms, and mostly dried krill. Earthworms on occasion. At 26" it now eats Market Shrimp (minus the spines), Mussels, Smelt, bits of any seafood I am cooking for dinner, i.e. snapper, salmon, squid, etc. (Before cooking, duh.) Plan to try octopus also.

Sadly it never warmed up to pellets, though there were many attempts.

Some fish is very oily, i.e. salmon and smelt, so feed sparingly.
