aros grow fast?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Won't last too long....they grow fastest when they are small and start to slow down around 12". I had one that I got at about 1.5-2" and grew to 22.5 in about 2 years before he took the leap of faith out of the tank while I was at work. Those first, I'll say 15", were from the first year and after that his growth rate slowed down a lot.

I agree with everyone that it is better to get a large tank to begin with for you aro, but don't you guys think an 100+gallon will be a bit of an overkill for a 3in aro, as my 4in jardini has to search a little in a minute 20 gallon for food. (yes, he will be placed in a larger home soon) imagine a 3incher in 100+gallon........??

My plan was to get a 20 gallon as a juvie, then when time to upgrade...use the 20 as a filter upgrade, then buy a 100+, anyway just a suggestion........ :werd:

mine started at 6" last August, he's 15" now. still in a 55, 150 on the way. He averages 1 inch every 3 weeks if conditions are ideal. Feed him hikari carnivore food sticks, mine likes crickets and little baby neons. No goldfish, too fatty (when he's bigger) good luck, he's pretty small!
