I took a look at them lights the satellite plus are going for $150-200. Beams work around $50-100.
Even though the satellite looks really good there expensive
The first two are night settings , the second is how I have it set during the daytime
Next few pics are of it sitting on top of tank , it just stands on the glass sliders (also my fitting is only 4ft on a 6ft tank as you can see from daytime PIC its still bright at both ends ) basically it doesn't have to be full length of tank so a 4ft llight will be fine on 5x2x2 IMO dude
Excuse the dark pictures my timer is still on lights out its too early in the morning here lol
I'll do you a video tonight running through the colours and settings etc if you like
Mate i really appreciate if you would put up a video of your tank.
Are the lights inside the tank or are they on top of the sliding glass? What happens with the water vapor will they damage the light? Really like your stand did you make it by yourself?
Sorry dude just looked at those last pics on my phone there terrible can't see close Ups of light , its just sat on the glass sliders , they are condensation proof though as there designed to span across open top tanks (I need lids for my fish so do you) so you just stand it on the glass
Glad you like ny stand built it myself out of 3"x2" and faced it up with boards , the doors still need screwing on with handles
I'll get a video posted for you asap , really need my own "evz'z 180 gal thread"
Ha ha your stand is brilliant, no wonder your an amazing artist. Iam going to get my tank built in 2 days time so do you think the sliding glass lid are cheaper than the canopy. Personlly i dont prefer canopies because they spoil the look of the tank
Thanks mate glad you like it all the panels and doors are from an old wardrobe that was being thrown at work so I recycled it lol , it'll look better once the handles are on , I should be able to design and build a stand ive had a degree in product design for twelve years now
if your having a tank built it'll take time to cure etc (I had to wait few weeks) then water test etc , so it may be worth finding a 5x2 ready built if your eager to get going with it , build hour own stand mate its easy.
As for canopy me and the gf are in an on going battle because she wants me to put a hood on it to match the stand (like my old 5ftr) but I want it like it is just glass with lights ontop torso I suppose its personal preference on that one
Haha good on you mate recycling is better for the environment. I prefer the tank without a canopy it looks more natural i guess. As for the stand NO WAY! iam terrible at building stands.

mate take a look at this the top seems similar to yours. I wonder how strong that glass has to be to prevent your arowana breaking through. Its just going to be a rtg in the tank so one canister will be enough right. The guy that is building the canopy is asking 8000rs which is around $60. However i just prefr it bare
