arowana aquarium setup

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's an awesome setup man , yes that's what the top of mine looks like with lights sat ontop , not sure about how tuff the glass is yet I think the sliders are 8mm but we'll find out in few more months when the jar hits 24" lol (ill be in the s##t if he breaks one )
One filter will do for clean water but you may have a problem with flow reaching the other end of tank (what filter you using ? ) you could always add a powerhead or wave maker to the other end , all my aros have loved faster flowing water plus it keeps them active and strong IMO

Yeah thats true iam going to use 10mm just in case. A wavemaker is a good idea my current silver and the small jardini also likes a strong flow.
Well if i can have my set up outdoors it would be awesome.

What yearly temps are you getting over there mate ? Are your other aros in the pond then ? The trouble I'm guessing with a tank outside with glass sliders is how to prevent direct sunlight making the water turn green ?? UV lights is the only way I can think of powerful pond ones

hmm yeah my others arowanas in the pond. I sold my G2 red because he was not coexisting with the pbass. The aros are fine in the pond I guess they are used to the climate. Its usually 27-30c here so the arowanas are fine.

Cool man I wish I could do it I'd go so over board in my back yard I'm bad enough with the space I've got inside , check how much space there is between the top of my tank and the underside of the stairs lol talk about a close fit (I built the stand before the tank arrived to so it was all very close for call if it would actually fit , I had a few people doubting but I trusted my measurements and it slid right in

)
How big your jar now approximately as he's in the pond ? Any fighting between them ? Is it just those or is there ditherer fish in with them ?

As for the lighting iam trying to figure out how to make a lighting holder for my tank. There are a few good tube lights like Arcadia here but they need some kind of support to hold them in place.

The beams work and satellite lights don't ship to Srilanka unfortunately. The ones that do are above $120. Iam a little out of cash right now because of the large expenses for the tank and the rtg:(

The jars around 6inches the silver is around 10 so the jar is quite reluctant to make his move there is a datnoid and a few koi in there. Your one lucky guy bro if the tank didn't fit in you would have to make your stand all over, that's a risk i wouldn't take

Hahaha like I said mate I trust my measurements :D what about hanging a light fixture over your tank on chain or wire ? I'm considering that tbh
