Nice Pic. Love the Aro's when they are small. I saw a Huge Golden Aro the other day. About 20", The owner had it in a tall 40Gal (or so). I was Horrified as it just swam in circles.

I've been trying to find out what's causing this.

i have 2 silver aro's and only one is showing this.

Specs:
55Gal
PH 7.0
Ammonia = 0

Weekly water change of 25%
add Novaplus and salt before water change.

can someone tell me what this is and how to fix it.

I thought it was getting better with the salt but idk. haven't seen alot of results.

Any info?

Hmmmm....... one Aro is fine and the other is..........ALL BEATEN UP!!!!

poor arow.

You have another tank? I'd try separating them I bet in his own tank. I bet his fins go back to normal. It not uncommon for aros not get along together.

:iagree:

yes ;) One is attacking the other by the looks of it.. And the one being attacked is not fighting back. Want proof.. Put a tank seperater in for 2 weeks and see if the beat up one heals ;)

I have a Empty 30Gal i'm not using at the moment.

I'll see if this does the trick.

Also I have many Plastic Plants in the tank.

You think it might be another cause. (swimming into the plants)

is it fin rot?

i want to know what this is, opposed to treating it.
I can see white edges on the frayed fins indicating finrot. Antibiotics may help but water changes are always a better solution. Check your water parameters.

I'm so blind!! :D

i do water changes once a week.

water parameters are good.

No hes getting beat up by the other aro. I don't see any white edges. And the other aro is perfectly fine? I doubt its your water though regular water changes are needed. Use that extra 30gal see what happens. And no it would not be your plastic plants. I've had plastic plants with my aro for a long time.
