Arowana Growth?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
As others have suggested, a mix diet is best. I do still prefer pellets above all else as a staple. If you want to pellet train, always start with pellets when feeding, then supplement with other food you'll (soon to) know he'll eat, based on how much pellets they eat. If you use tongs, be careful as they get bigger as theyll bite it sometimes and can hurt their mouths.

I don't have a silver, but I think they most average 1"/month until they reach anout 18", then growth rate tends to slow down.

Im seriously hoping he'll let me pet him. Is anybody ballsy enough to hand feed theirs? lol
Hand feeding is definitely worth it, its kinda funny for them to be somewhere else in the tank and then just start booking it towards your hand. Once they’re there they usually don’t take very long and like others said, they really do have bad aim. Also if you do dare (totally worth it) to hand feed it, watch out, you’ll be in the splash zone. Btw it doesn’t really hurt.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this but feeding it stuff that sinks may or may not cocontribute to drop eye.

It doesn't because drop eye isn't related to eye muscles,it's related to to much fat in the diet, some of which builds up behind the upper part of the eye.
A good insect/arthopods related diet and decent exercise help prevent this.

Correct...but also caused by scar tissue. Very common due to their jumping and hitting lids!
