Arowana Horrer storie!

glad you guys got a good laugh out of it.

why not try search 'growling' or 'puffing' on arofanatics for yourself and see what other experienced aro keepers have to say about the subject.

While eating a full grown macaw is a bit of a stretch, I still don;t see what's so hard to believe about an aro trying to attack a bird, but I guess its just me.

a macaw?
maybe a parakeet....
plus an aro jumping 3 feet out of the tank?
i think he'd fall out of the tank unless that tank was huge.
the aro could probably grab its head...
and the macaw would scratch his eyes out....
in the wild they do eat birds...
but a macaw???
maybe he had a baby macaw.
and it fell and he thought it was flying.
btu then again,he;d be pretty stupid....
oh wait...
hang on i think my bichirs are trying to have a smoke again.

well he did leave a the aro tank open. Oh that problems happens to you two i thought i was going crazy.

all i wanted to do wasn post a funny storie i had heard, but no you guys have to over analize everything taking the soul out of this thread. this was just supposed to be funny no matter how the logistics dont fit and possible. the guy probably didnt have a macaw but more likely a very small parrot.
Read my post and you'll understand the whole 'macaw' thing. From the evidence we have recieved, nothing fits.

like the kid said, its not his story.
the guy was allready lying about the macaw, he also probably wasnt even home when the incident happened and decided to fabricate the details to his liking.
Like substituting the word finch for macaw.
The tale is obvious bs, but I enjoyed it none the less.
Also if it was to be true, who would honestly watch it happen, and not think for a moment to at least attempt to save thier several thousand dollar bird.
Haha that i found entertaining as well.

I didn't read every post... but it's right, it's not HIS story. IF anyone called Talkstofish the liar, then that's pretty stupid. The dude probably was though..

I think I saw it had to be a huge tank with a huge open top for the aro to jump three feet out, grab the bird and fall back into the water. If it fell to the floor or anywhere ohter than the water, I doubt it had any way to swallow a bird.

Talkstofish, we are discussing what you posted in a discussion thread.

If it were me, i'd have bought it, and fed it more to get it to regurgitate to see what it really ate. lol

didnt have any way to take it home. I was at the pet store one the way to my cousins house for christmas. I just got home yesterday. When i asked about the arowana they said some chinese guy bought it with a pair of p bass.

im going to catch a seagull and see if my arrow jumps out and grabs it before the seagull craps all over my tank.
